Document Retrieval System (DRS)
This new enhancement to RMS and RMS/DeskTop (available in forthcoming release 3v24) eliminates the overhead incurred by “Help Desk” operations typically setup to help users retrieve older reports. Now, instead of having to make a request to a central admin point to have a mainframe report retrieved and made viewable, DRS allows the user to request and import the desired report data right from the DeskTop client PC.
DRS also provides enhanced data-mining capabilities through its new "pattern" matching feature, allowing users to import specified pages from a report without actually having to pipe the entire report down the network to a DeskTop client PC. These "patterns," as well as other tasks in DRS, take only a few minutes to set up and are saved thereafter for quick recall and re-use.
